EMDR Certified Therapist (CIT)

owner-Therapist-Consultant

Sometimes we reach a point in our lives where we just want to feel better. The stress of daily life combined with the complications of relationships and our own histories can make it difficult to feel connected, whole, and peaceful. When we experience trauma and/or ongoing stress in life we develop habits, beliefs, and cycles that sometimes cease to serve us any longer.

In addition to offering Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), I have an eclectic treatment approach that hinges on the idea that we are constantly navigating the connection between our mind (thoughts & beliefs), body, environment, and experiences.

When we are suffering, it can be hard to know how to find relief. I truly believe that therapy is a tool to help you get to where you want to go. I offer daytime and evening hours in my South Tampa location as well as Teletherapy to increase the ease of accessibility. Please feel free to call for a free telephone consultation.

Life often brings us unexpected changes, hardships, and challenges. Even positive changes like an addition to the family, a big move, or a new career opportunity can trigger intense stress while adjusting to a new normal. Navigating these stressors in your life, whether past or present, may seem difficult and negatively impact how you want to function and feel.

Although change in life is inevitable, it does not need to provoke a prolonged sense of stress or anxiety. The methods I use to help clients attain overall wellbeing are a combination of somatic healing principles in addition to talk therapy. I believe the connection between the mind and body is powerful and that the best approach to healing involves both.

Taking the first step toward mental and emotional wellness can feel intimidating or frightening. Acknowledging when we might benefit from support is brave, and I know that asking for support takes courage. If my approach aligns with your personal goals and you would like to know more about the services I provide, please contact me for a free phone consult.

I have been working in the mental health field for over 10 years and am passionate about assisting individuals to grow and improve their lives through a collaborative, empathetic, and compassionate approach. I specialize in working with adults and children (ages 4-10) to help them cope with emotional and behavioral challenges. I have extensive experience working with anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief, stress management, and acute trauma.

I use a variety of approaches. I have training and experience in the use of Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), both of which are shown by research to be effective in improving mental well-being in profound and lasting ways. Clients I work with also benefit from other evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Play Therapy (CBPT), and Mindfulness-based techniques.

I enjoy approaching therapy cooperatively with my clients in a spirit of mutual respect, authenticity, and warmth. Please feel free to contact me for a free 15 minute phone consultation to learn more about the services I provide.

One of the most common challenges we face is reaching out for help. Too often, we suppress or deny our emotions and trauma experiences, believing that we have to process them alone. This suppression can cause adverse symptoms such as anxiety, depression, intrusive thoughts, and relational or self-destruction. It is my belief that we do not have to continue suffering alone and therapy is a great step towards healing the damage we think can never be undone. Therapy helps create an atmosphere where understanding, change and growth are possible while giving back the power to make our own meaning and purpose in life.

I work with adults, adolescents and couples with issues such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship conflict, mood disorders, and personality disorders among many others. I predominantly use therapeutic approaches such as CBT, REBT, solution-focused, and person-centered. However, my approach is heavily tailored to clients' needs.

My main focus as a therapist is to help clients take back their freedom of choice and become the best, most stable version of themselves. If you are ready to finally reach out for help and make positive lifestyle changes, contact me via email or phone for a free consult today. I look forward to building a collaboratively therapeutic relationship with you!
